About Me

 

Rev. Dr. Yulla Hines, a disciple of Jesus Christ, serves as one of the associate ministers of the Buffalo Springs Missionary Baptist Church, 8025 Turnpike Road, Raeford, NC.  Rev. Dr. Barry O. Shoffner is the Pastor.

 

Rev. Hines accepted the call to the gospel ministry in 2001 under the Pastorship of Dr. Barry O. Shoffner.  She became a licensed minister by the Buffalo Springs Missionary Baptist Church on March 27, 2001.  She was ordained by the St. John Missionary Baptist Educational Association on February 9, 2005.  She earned a Master of Divinity in 2005 and a Doctorate in Ministry in 2007 from the Bread of Life Institute, Whiteville, NC. Her favorite passage of scripture is Romans 8: 28-39.

 

She has served in many capacities of leadership in the church.  She served as church secretary/clerk, Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Secretary, Baptist Trainer (BTU), sings on the choir, trustee, and finance officer.  She serves as the church’s Outreach minister/evangelist at the Autumn Care Rest Home, Raeford, NC and an Associate Chaplain at the Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, NC.  Rev. Hines is the President of the Hoke County Missionary Union, comprised of eight missionary Baptist churches.  She serves on the board of the Hoke County Literacy Council, 2011 she was appointed to serve on the Scotland-Hoke Criminal Justice Partnership Board, as well as secretary of the Board of Trustees, St. John Missionary Baptist Association etc.

 

Notably, she is a graduate of Fayetteville State University where she received a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Elementary Education.  Additionally, she has earned a Masters in Reading from East Carolina University and Fayetteville State University.   She is a retired educator but remarkably continues to work part-time in the field of education.  She is a member of the Delta Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority where she serves as chaplain.  She is also a member of the Laurinburg Chapter of the National Association of University Women (NAUW), and the Hoke County Chapter of the NAACP.

 

In addition, she is married to Grady Lewis Hines, Jr.  She is the mother of two and the proud grandmother of two.  She believes that God requires of us a faithful service to mankind, to help liberate the hungry, downcast, sick and the brokenhearted.  Her primary goal is to humbly minister in the areas God has assigned.
